§ 2.01. Composition and eligibility of city council.

There shall be a city council of seven members elected at large by the electors of the city. One member will be elected as mayor and the balance will be elected as city council members.
(a)

Eligibility. Only persons who have been registered voters in Belleair Beach for the six months immediately preceding the first day of qualification for election; who have physically resided in the city for the six months immediately preceding the first day of qualification; and who remains as a permanent resident of the city during their term of office, shall be eligible to run for and hold the office of council member. Any person who is deprived of their civil rights through conviction for committing a crime involving a felony or moral turpitude shall not be qualified to hold office.
