§ 2.07. City council meetings.

  • (a)

    Organizational meeting. The first meeting of each newly elected council for induction into office shall be held on the Monday following certification of the election by the Supervisor of Elections.

    (b)

    Time and place. The council shall meet regularly at least once a month at such times and places as the council may prescribe by resolution. Special meetings of the city council may be held at the call of the presiding officer, or at the request of a majority of the council members; and, whenever practicable, shall provide for not less than 24 hours notice to each member of the council and the public.

    (c)

    Quorum. Except as provided in subsection 2.06(c), a majority of the council shall constitute a quorum. No action of the council shall be valid unless adopted by the affirmative vote of at least four members of the council.

    (d)

    Voting. Voting on ordinances and resolutions shall be by roll call and recorded by the city clerk in the official minutes of the meeting.
